A child care incursion consists of two separate developmentally appropriate programs:
- A 25 minute free-play program for children 16 months to < 3 years.
- A 50 minute free-play and structured activity program for children 3-5 years.

Up to 30 children can take part in each section of the program – that’s 60 children – but if you have more children at your centre we can add extra sessions to meet your needs.
For pre-kindy programs we use the 50 minute program. We can do multiple sessions to cover all your groups, and up to 30 children can take part in each session.
We guarantee that we can keep your children focused and learning for the whole session. Each program is carefully tailored to the age and development of the children and has awesome learning outcomes that link directly to the Early Years Learning Framework.
Child’s Play Music’s instruments are almost unbreakable – no need for you to worry about children mistreating them! We build them tough so young children can explore them fully. And they sound wonderful!
It’s more than just an incursion – you also receive two big booklets of follow-up music activities and instrument-making instructions, to extend and consolidate the children’s learning long after the incursion is over. And every child receives a certificate of achievement!

The video is of kindergarten children – what about our younger children?
Our instruments are easy to play, even for infants, but in the under three’s program we remove a few instruments that are too difficult for such young children – we want every child to experience success! We set the drums up differently so that even the youngest child can access all the drums – even our massive bass drums.
We know you want a developmentally appropriate program for your youngest children, so their program is shorter and is focussed entirely on free play and exploration. They will love it – and so will you!
